Philosophy

The festival idea was the basic idea of Between the Beats. As early as in March 2008 we decided to found a jazz festival. It was supposed to be a very special festival; handpicked music in a unique location in an idyllic setting on the fringes of the black forest.

We conciously took our time realising the festival. We wanted to develop the overall concept of our website as platform for handpicked music in peace and unhurriedly. Also, we wanted to take great care in choosing the location, the program and especially the artists for our festival.

Each year, on the last weekend of September, we aim to present a sustainable music festival. We want to share unique, creative moments with you that can only be experienced at live concerts; especially improvised music, such as jazz - in all its variations.
