Power quintet from Paris to play this year`s festival finale

»Is noJazz the future of Jazz?« – this question was posed by the venerable French newspaper »Le Monde« and cannot be easily answered. But noJazz have certainly become a musical phenomenon which is spreading like wildfire throughout the international music scene.

Their story began in 2000 when five musicians, all of them proud of their musical heritage (chanson / hiphop / jazz), joined together to venture into new musical territories. They create a highly energetic mix of syncopic dancefloor rhythms, electro jazz and lots of funk – resulting in sensational music, always full of surprises. As well as being highly sensual it is also full of powerful rock and can at times be excessively funky in the style of George Clinton. noJazz combine creativity with absolute freedom – a concept which underlies their fourth album “Zooland”, published in December 2009.
