The biography of VINX is highly exceptional. In 1980 and 1984 he trained for the olympics as a triple jumper. He then had to overcome severe burn injuries inflicted by a racist attack on his home and later had to give up his athletic career and focused on his music where he became incredibly successful. In the early 90’s VINX worked and toured intensively with Sting. He also performed with Taj Mahal, Michelle Shocked, Zap Mama, Peter Gabriel and many others. He is involved in social projects in Ghana und is a regular guest lecturer at the Berklee School of Music in Boston.

VINX’s music is exceptional, he accompanies himself with high virtuousity on the djembe and using a loop machine which is solely based on his voice, he manages to create a complexity and dramaturgy which fascinates his audiences.
